Sank, Alexandria. 31/12/1935
On 31st December 1935, G-AASJ, with 12 passengers onboard, ran out of fuel in the darkness and crashed within sight of the flare-path at Alexandria. Only the pilot was rescued alive. Note: On the same night, G-EBVH arrived with only 12 minutes of fuel left, and there was a strong Parliamentary criticism of this marginal operation of the long stage from Mirabella to Alexandria without an intermediate fuel stop.
