'Team Merlin' would like to inform everyone about our latest project. We have always been interested in the more unusual aircraft - one of our projects being operating the world's largest bi-plane, the Vickers Vimy.

For many years we have been working behind-the-scenes on our next project, while watching others with the same idea come and go. The launch date of 1st April 2004 was set some years ago when we knew we would be in a position to say 'what we
are doing' rather than 'what we hope to do'. After 8 years, travelling worldwide, collecting thousands of pieces of information, and arranging the vital necessary infrastructure to support the aircraft, this time has come.

The 1st April 2004 marks the 80th anniversary of the formation of Imperial Airways, it also marks the launch of our project 'Imperial 42' to build and operate a Handley Page 42 replica. Our main aim is to make the aircraft as close to the original as possible in everyway. We also have many exciting ideas around the main project which we will enjoy sharing. Further details regarding the aircraft and its operations will be given in the forthcoming months when we are ready to announce each stage - it's no fun if we give everything away now!

For more information please come along and see us with our show stand. For details of the many venues we will be attending throughout the season, as well as the official club for the project, and information on Imperial Airways, please visit our website at www.imperial-airways.com

The Imperial Airways website, club ('Club Imperial'), and stand will now include information on the 'Imperial 42' project. The fullest source of information regarding the project will be available to club members.
